Get Involved

“I believe that if you just do your little bit without thinking of the bigness of what you stand against, if you turn to the enlargement of your own capacities, just that itself creates new potential.”

Vandana Shiva

The Post Growth Institute is a US-registered, not-for-profit organization, working globally to explore what a post-capitalist future might look and feel like… and how we might get there.

This page outlines our key needs and invites you to explore how your strengths align with our work — and how we can support you in reaching our shared goals.

Five ways to get involved

1. Join our public Offers and Needs Markets

For over a decade, we’ve been refining the Offers and Needs Market (OANM): A two-hour, guided process in which community members meet (virtually or in-person) to identify and exchange their passions, knowledge, skills, resources, opportunities, and needs.

To experience the transformative power of an OANM for yourself, join our quarterly public Offers and Needs Market. It’s a fun and inspiring way to network with our post growth community, get more comfortable expressing your offers and needs, and begin conversations with all kinds of people. Register here for an upcoming event.

And if you’re interested in more in-depth training that also provides valuable tips for facilitating an OANM, you can register for our Offers and Needs Market Facilitator training, a virtual five-week program that runs multiple times throughout the year.

2. Amplify the post growth conversation

From a one-off donation of US $25 to a monthly gift of $10, your contribution supports our work, helps community members access training, and allows us to connect with more people and organizations across the world.

Make a one-time donation

US $25

contributes to a Disability Justice Assessment we are conducting for all our Offers and Needs Market events and trainings.

US $100

supports our Post Growth Fellowship publication for one week, helping a wider audience access post-growth content created by Global South activists, scholars, and entrepreneurs.

US $200

covers a Post Growth Fellow’s program costs for 10 days.

US $400

covers a community scholarship to our Offers and Needs Market facilitator training.

Make a regular monthly donation

A regular monthly gift is the easiest way to sustain our work, and create a deeper, lasting impact.

If you make your contribution from the US, your gift is tax-deductible.

4. Find out more about the PGI

Discover our programs

We run a range of programs designed to build capacity for systems change across individual, community, and organisational levels:

  • The Post Growth Fellowship — An eight-month collaborative journey that supports changemakers from around the world — with a focus on the Global South — to deepen their practice, grow their networks, and reimagine systems through a post-growth lens.
  • Offers and Needs Market — A powerful tool for communities, organizations, and movements to build trust and circulate resources by sharing what they have to offer and what they need.
  • Post Growth Alliance — A cooperative social media service that helps organizations advocating for systemic change overcome algorithmic barriers. Since 2013, the Alliance has provided a solidarity hub where groups can share content for wider amplification. Our team curates and broadcasts these posts to global audiences, saving organizations time and money while expanding the reach of post-capitalist ideas and initiatives.

Explore our asset-based, sociocratic approach

Our work is grounded in principles of shared power, mutual support, and recognizing the strengths already present in every individual and community we engage with. We practice sociocratic governance and an asset-based approach to change-making — centering relationships, consent-based decision-making, and the wisdom of lived experience.

If you’re curious to learn more about how we work, listen to this podcast conversation on embodied leadership, where we share insights into our practices and the deeper values that guide our team, or read this article on the power of asset-based approaches in mobilising for social change.
